Vision
To empower others to “set themselves free”from the tethers of addiction, shame, isolation, betrayal, relational conflict, trauma, and mental illness.
MISSION
To help free individuals from the tether of behavioral addictions, betrayal, and trauma with the best clinical services; to provide quality training and mentorship to new clinicians; to give back to our community.
OUR VALUES
CHOICE | We believe in the client’s right to determine their own destiny. This is the fundamental value that drives our vision in which we help clients “set themselves free” from the challenges that drag them down and prevent them from reaching their goals.
COMPETENCE | In order to achieve clinical excellence, we provide constant clinical development in the most empirically proven therapeutic modalities. We adopt a holistic, systemic approach to help individuals, couples and families achieve healing as effectively as possible.
CURIOSITY | Curiosity is a superpower we don’t use enough. It is an essence of humility. It gives us permission to not know everything. It allows us to be open to new experiences, information, and growth. It is the antithesis of judgement. At Untethered Therapy, we are committed to approaching each person with curiosity, creativity, and respect. We do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy.
COLLABORATION | We believe the client is the expert in themselves. Each of us possesses an inner wisdom that can guide us to healing. One of the greatest causes of mental and physical health challenges are when people get disconnected from their bodies and inner-wisdom (intuition/spirituality). We work collaboratively with our clients while providing a judgement-free environment that supports clients in identifying and leveraging all of their strengths.
CONNECTION | Our goal is to help our clients develop healthy connections with themselves, loved ones, and community in order to improve mental health and overall well-being.
“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment.” – Brene Brown
COURAGE | We recognize that growth is incredibly challenging. Much like the butterfly’s agonizing struggle to escape the cocoon which strengthens the wings to give it the gift of flight; our life’s challenges can likewise strengthen us to reach our innate potential we never imagined for ourselves. Our mission is to help you see the butterfly within and connect with your inner courage to set yourself free from life’s challenges and enable you to soar!

employment opportunities
We are hiring!
Full-Time Mental Health Clinician
We are seeking to add a clinician to our group! Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, this position will help us meet the demands of our busy practice by providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups. This can be a fully remote, face-to-face, or hybrid position depending on the clinician’s preferences and the practice’s needs. The specific modality (individuals, couples, group) and clientele (children, adolescents, adults) may be negotiated with the Clinical Director to best match the clinician’s strengths to the needs of the practice.
We have a robust stream of referrals and are seeking a clinician who wants a full caseload, building up to an average of at least 24 clients per week. Preference will be given to fully licensed clinicians (LPC, LMFT, LCSW), but pre-licensed or associate-licensed clinicians are welcome to apply. See the full job description here.
Additional Employment Opportunities
Untethered Therapy has a vision of increasing our reach by adding additional services and programming to better serve the Pittsburgh Area. We are always interested in connecting with passionate clinicians or coaches who have specialties or skills that are compatible with our holistic approach and who resonate with the vision, mission, and values outlined by Untethered Therapy.

Diversity STATEMENT
We are committed to do our part in standing against racism and discrimination and providing education, training, support and healing from these wounds. Untethered’s vision is to create a space, not of sameness or exclusivity, but of inclusivity in the broadest sense. As such we are committed to/hiring and training diverse clinicians who are able to accept and work with clients from a variety of backgrounds. We yearn to create an environment where we can be examples of diversity working harmoniously together. We want to be a place where people of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, races, spiritual, religious, or non-religious leanings can feel safe and receive healing connections; a place where people will be seen as humans first and feel respected, honored, supported, and cared for.
